SWEDEN GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL

The Sweden Green Building Council is an environmental sustainability classification system based on Sweden’s societal demands and regulations. It is primarily developed for residential and commercial buildings and is applicable to new construction and existing buildings alike. The system evaluates a building’s quality in terms of energy, indoor environment, and materials. As an accredited green building coordinator, Krook & Tjäder provides training in how the Green Building Council works and how sustainability performance measures should be analyzed, demonstrated, and evaluated.

BREEAM

BREEAM is one of the oldest sustainability classification systems and the most widely used of the international systems in Europe. In BREEAM, a property is evaluated on a number of performance measures in the areas of energy, materials, indoor environment, transportation, pollution, waste, water, and innovation.

As a BREEAM AP (Accredited Professional), Krook & Tjäder have specialist expertise in sustainability and environmental issues in combination with a thorough knowledge of the BREEAM performance evaluation process. As a BREEAM-accredited sustainability coordinator, we often serve as a specialist advisor on a development project team, coordinating and prioritizing so that the building will achieve the desired level of certification when it is formally assessed. In the role of design architect on a BREEAM project, therefore, we have the in-house expertise to ensure the environmental quality of the work we deliver and to contribute actively to the achievement of the project’s sustainability objectives.
